Cyndy Krening, MS, RNC-OB, C-EFM is a masters prepared perinatal clinical nurse specialist who has worked in the inpatient obstetric setting for many years. She has worked as a labor and delivery staff nurse, charge nurse, nurse manager, outreach coordinator, high-risk OB flight nurse and perinatal clinical nurse specialist. Cyndy is active in AWHONN locally and nationally. She has served as the section chair for Colorado, 2 terms on the national Board of Directors, and is currently the AWHONN President-elect. She has been a speaker at AWHONN state conferences as well as annual conventions. Cyndy is published and on the editorial board of The Journal of Perinatal and Neonatal Nursing. She has served on the test committees for NCC’s Inpatient OB and EFM certification exams, and represents nursing on the Colorado Maternal Mortality committee. Cyndy loves to teach, and has provided thousands of hours of education to nursing audiences locally, regionally and nationally. In 2010, Cyndy won the coveted Nightingale Award –the highest honor given to a Colorado nurse.
